Bushton Bash to be held Aug. 26

The Bushton Pride Committee will host the “Bushton Bash,” an event with something for all ages, on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Bushton Plaza (the former middle school).

The day’s activities will kick off at 1 p.m. with a dodgeball tournament, for youth from third grade through high school seniors, sponsored by the Bushton Recreation Committee. The Rec Committee also will hold a cornhole tournament, open to all ages, beginning at 6:30 p.m. For more information and to register for either event, go to the Bushton Rec Facebook page.

From 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. the Farmer Township Library will host Family Bingo. The Library also will have a raffle for a barn quilt, with all proceeds going to the Library. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Library, with the winner announced at 6 p.m.

Kids activities will begin at 4 p.m. and run through 6 p.m., and will include water slides, a bounce house, carnival games, yard games and a dunk tank. Gaga ball will be held at the gaga pit downtown.

Also on the schedule for 4 p .m. – 6 p.m. will be:

· tours of the Bushton Plaza building;

· a silent art auction by Cloud 9 Creative Experiences;

· an art and baked goods auction by Heartland Home Educators;

· cards and dominoes at the Senior Center; and

· open houses at God’s Got This Boutique and Ellco Insurance at the Plaza; and at the Bushton Museum downtown.

A beer garden will open at 4 p.m. and run through 11 p.m.

A free-will-donation dinner, featuring hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, sides and dessert, will run from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

A kids movie will begin at 7 p.m.

The day’s activities wrap up with live music by Decades 7 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
