The Lady Panther bowlers picked up nine of the 13 points possible in Garden City Tuesday. The Great Bend boys were unable to topple the Western Athletic Conference leaders in a 12-1 loss.

The Lady Panthers out-rolled the Buffaloes 2,296 to 2,228, thanks in large part to Kaylin Wahlmeier. With games of 255 and 245 to start her day, she was just 200 pins shy of a 700 series with a game to go. She rolled a 171 in her finale but still had the high-series at 671.

Garden City's Rileigh Carr was the only other bowler to reach 600 with a 663. Aliyah Fryberger placed fourth for Great Bend with a 537 series, followed by Sahara Rziha in fifth with a 534. Zoey Mayberry shot a 523 for seventh, Emilee Nelson finished at 481 for eighth, and Paige Heine rolled a 312 for 12th.

The Lady Panthers currently lead the WAC with 68 points, just three points ahead of Dodge City. Wahlmeier has the only 200-plus average in league competition with at 203.

The Garden City boys finished with four of the top-five series on the day. Kaden Strasser finished with a 267 to lead the way with a 693. KJ Burns finished just two pins behind him.
