Led by Lel Limo's All-Region placing, the Barton Community College men's cross-country team earned a seventh-place finish on Friday at the Region 6 Championships held at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas.

Competing as a team for the second time this season, the Cougars finished seventh in the Division I Region 6 standings with 203 points.

Hutchinson Community College ran away with the team championship, scoring 35 points with Butler falling runner-up for a second straight year with 50 points.

Fresh off a program top 10 time set just two weeks ago on the same course, Limo led Barton's six-pack once again, as the freshman placed ninth in the 100-competitor field with a time of 24:48.02 for All-Region 6 Division I honors.

Gabriel Carty was the second top finisher for the Cougars completing the 8K circuit in 27:29.26 for a 44th best stoppage in the overall race and 37th best in the Division I field.

Running in his second 8K race this season, Lisbon Kiprono came home third in Barton's lineup with a 62nd overall result and 52nd placing out of the Division I race clocking a time of 28:32.27.

Corlando Chambers led a trio of Cougars competing in their first 8K race of the season in 72nd with a time of 29:25.91.

Improving from their first trip around the Kansas Veterans Home circuit just two-weeks ago, Keandro Gordon and Korbin Woods mended new personal best performances behind times of 30:35.08 and 30:39.17, for 82nd and 83rd place respectfully.

Also making their 8K collegiate debuts, Jack Cole and Simeon Adams concluded the Cougar lineup with 91st and 92nd placings completing the course in 31:49.63 and 32:01.36.

Barton will have the next two weekends off in preparation for the Division I NJCAA National Championships held Saturday November 9th at the Pole Green Park in Richmond, Virgina.
