On Sunday, Sept. 10, at approximately 09:42 p.m., an officer with the Great Bend Police Department made a traffic stop on a 2009 Volkswagen passenger car in the 4200 block of 10th Street for a traffic violation.
The Great Bend Police Department's K9 Niko was deployed for a free air sniff around the vehicle, during which the K9 alerted to the odor of an illegal drug coming from inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was searched by patrol officers. Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an illegal weapon were subsequently located.
The driver and sole occupant, Paul Pryor, age 46, was arrested and booked at Barton County Jail in lieu of bond.
