Downtown Great Bend comes alive on the final Friday of each month from April to October for Great Bend Alive's Fridays on Forest. The 2023 season will come to a close with this Friday's event that runs from 5-9 p.m. on Forest Avenue between Main and Williams. Eagle Radio is sponsoring the final event of the season, and Promotions Director Shannon Towns said a livestream of the Great Bend High School football game in Salina is just one piece of the fun.
"It's a great time to come out to come out and support the Panthers, as well as get out downtown and have some fun," she said. "There's a costume contest going on, plus you can get qualified to become an instant finalist for the Shop at Home Holidays $10,000 Shopping Spree."
Food and alcohol vendors are available at all Fridays on Forest. The Oct. 27 event will also feature a mobile version of axe throwing from Hatchet Axtion, the livestreamed football game at 7 p.m., and the costume contest for all ages at 8:30.
The Shop at Home for the Holidays $10,000 Shopping Spree contest is presented by Bauer Computers and Moeder Heating Plumbing & Air, your Bryant Dealer. The big prize will be given away on Dec. 16.
