Flame Engineering, Inc. has reached 25 years without a lost-time accident, a milestone the La Crosse team will celebrate this month. The company previously marked 24 years on June 6, 2025, with an all-company celebration. Safety has been central since the beginning. Flame earned OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) certification in October 2000 and has maintained it since. The Kansas Department of Labor recognized the company at 16 years with no lost-time accidents, building on an earlier mark of nine and a half years celebrated in December 2010.

A company wide celebration will be held on July 17, with a luncheon to include invited guests from the Kansas Department of Labor.

Flame Engineering manufactures propane-fueled equipment in La Crosse, including Red Dragon® handheld torches, agricultural flamers, and the Weed Dragon™ for homeowners, serving farmers, growers, and industrial users worldwide. “This milestone belongs to every person on the floor,” said Jason Pivonka, CEO.

The company credits daily habits — machine guarding, mini safety meetings, forklift re-certification rodeos, and employee-led safety suggestions — for sustaining the record across decades of growth.
