As the Clara Barton Hospital Foundation begins to transition back to “normal” after the pandemic, they are thankful for the opportunity to have all aspects of the Annual Benefit back this year. To ensure the safest environment possible, the 28th Annual Benefit will still be a little different than in years past, celebrating over Father’s Day weekend (June 18 – 20).
This year’s event theme “Bigger, Better, Braver” is a tribute to where the organization has been and where they are heading - a testament of what we can accomplish together as a community. With the hospital expansion on the horizon, proceeds will help the pharmacy department get the additional square footage they need to increase efficiency and safety for all involved.
To kick off Father’s Day Weekend the four-man scramble golf tournament will be held on Friday, June 18 at Lake Barton Golf Course, with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. through 12:50 p.m. The cost to enter the tournament is $95 per player or $380 per team. Registration includes green fees, golf cart rental, lunch on the course, and a player gift. During this year’s tournament you will have the chance to win awards for three tournament flights – top three places, thanks to sponsors: Ehler Chevrolet, First Kansas Bank, and State Farm – Steve Lunsford, Agent. The registration deadline is Tuesday, June 15.
The memorable Hole-In-One Contest will offer golfers two chances to win $1,000 thanks to Ehler Chevrolet. Other contests include longest drive, longest putt, closest to the hole, and straightest shot for both men’s and women’s divisions, sponsored by Cardinal Pharmacy. This year’s tournament will also include a Par 3 Poker Hand contest.
On Saturday, June 19, a curbside dinner catered by Great Western Dining and sponsored by Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless will be available at the front entrance of the hospital from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The boxed dinner includes carved smoked brisket, green beans, red bliss potato salad, garlic bread, and hot fruit cobbler. Tickets are $16.00 and must be purchased by Wednesday, June 9 with the option of also purchasing pay-it-forward tickets, like last year.
Ticket holders may come anytime between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m.to pick-up their meals and are encouraged to enter and exit the hospital parking lot by using the southbound lane on Green Street. All dinner tickets must be secured in advance as there will be no ticket sales the night of the event. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the foundation at 620-292-0814 before June 9. Ticket(s) must be presented by the attendee in exchange for the meal(s).
The benefit auction will be online the entire weekend, opening Friday, June 18 at 8:00 a.m. and closing Sunday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m. To view items and register to bid, visit www.one.bidpal.net/clarabarton or simply text clarabarton to 243725. Auction items include: a Branson Getaway, 2-night stay at the Historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park - CO, Royals tickets/parking pass, firepit, Kate Spade tote and wallet, Pit Boss Table Top Grill, 4th of July firework package & Yeti cooler, golf memberships, an autographed Jackie Stiles basketball, an autographed Lady Oilers State Champion basketball, and hand-crafted specialty items. The traveling longhorn horns will again be part of the auction this year.
