Robert Lee “Bob” Seltmann

Robert Lee “Bob” Seltmann, 100, Nekoma, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Bob was born November 28, 1920, in Rush County, Kansas, the son of Anton and Carrie (Spreier) Seltmann.  He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.  He was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and VFW Post 3147, both of La Crosse, Kansas.

Bob was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II as a medic.

On January 1, 1949, he married Donna Yeager at the home of her mother, Edith Yeager, at Larned, Kansas.  To this union were born two sons, Richard Lee Seltmann and Thomas Joe Seltmann.  She preceded him in death October 27, 1975.

On May 10, 1981, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Kelling at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Hays, Kansas.

Survivors include:  his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Seltmann; one son, Richard Lee Seltmann; two step daughters, Karen Bennett, and Kathy Buchanan (Rob); one step grandson, Kody Buchanan; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one son, Thomas Seltmann; five brothers, Andy, Albert, Ernest, El Verne, and Harley; and four sisters, Sophia, Minnie, Lillian, and Carol.

Graveside service will be Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 1:30 P.M. at Nekoma Union Township Cemetery, Nekoma, Kansas, with Pastor Mitch Elrod officiating.  Interment will be in the Nekoma Union Township Cemetery, Nekoma, Kansas.

Social distancing is recommended.
