Barton Dance Theatre to host 'Dancing with the Cougars' fundraiser

Barton Community College’s Barton Dance Theatre can make you a well-rounded dancer with its “Dancing with the Cougars” social dance series fundraiser, which features five, two-hour workshops at Studio 34 (southeast corner of campus) focused on learning popular dances. Each session is $10, and tickets for each session are purchased separately. Classes are capped at 30. Tickets can be purchased at shows.bartonccc.edu.

All sessions can be attended with or without a dance partner, and all proceeds go to support the Barton Dance Theatre's trip to the American College Dance Festival in March. Schedule of classes:

Jan. 15 at 2 p.m.- Line Dances: Wedding Reception Basics

Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m.- Latin Dances: Tango & Salsa

Jan. 22 at 2 p.m.- Line Dances: Country & Western

Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m.- Swing Dance

Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m.- Smooth Dances: Waltz & Foxtrot
