Great Bend Bombers baseball update

The Great Bend Bombers 11u baseball team, coached by Brian Dreiling, continued its winning ways by barreling through the competition in the McPherson tournament this past weekend. The boys went a perfect 4-0 and outscored their opponents by a score of 56-12. With the victories the team improved to 30-7 on the season and have now won five tournaments and placed second twice. The 11u play in the USSSA State Tournament in Kansas City June 25-26.

In other Bombers action this weekend...

The 7u team, coached by Rich Baskerville, competed in the Wichita Father’s Day tournament and went 1-2. Their current record, playing against mainly 8u teams, is 4-14. Their next tournament action is in Great Bend next weekend.

8u, coached by Clint Pangburn, competed in McPherson and went 2-1. Their current record is 25-7 and will play in Great Bend next weekend.

9u, coached by Kris Sundahl, also competed in McPherson and went 2-1. Their current record is 13-12 and will compete in Great Bend next weekend.

13u, coached by Todd Gilkison, went to Oklahoma and finished 0-3-1. Their current record is 12-13-2 and will also play in the Great Bend tourney next weekend.

15u, coached by Chris Umphres, competed in the World Series in Wichita and placed second going 4-1 on the weekend. Boys improved their record to 9-3-2 and will play in Kansas City next weekend.

12u (25-4-1) and 14u (25-6) had the weekend off and play in USSSA State in Kansas City next weekend. 10u (21-7-1) was forced to drop out of their USSSA State tournament this past weekend due to injuries and will regroup to play in Wichita on June 25-26.
