From the Chamber
The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, June 12, to celebrate the relocation and expansion of Heart of Kansas Family Health Care’s behavioral-health services. The move highlights a significant milestone in the organization’s efforts to meet the growing demand for mental and behavioral health care in Central Kansas.
The behavioral-health team has officially moved into the newly remodeled Heart of Kansas annex building at 1910 18th Street, just south of the main clinic. This transition provides much-needed space for both patients and staff, creating a more functional and supportive environment for care.
Services offered at the new location include individual, group, family, and substance-use therapies, as well as specialized support for marriage, trauma, and grief counseling. The behavioral-health team includes a psychiatric nurse practitioner, licensed clinical therapists, social workers, and support staff, all working together to provide a wide range of professional services. New clients are currently being accepted.
The annex building, once partially leased for administrative use, was purchased last summer and renovated to accommodate the growing behavioral-health department. With this relocation, the main clinic is now able to dedicate more space to medical services as well.
Heart of Kansas Family Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing care to individuals with or without insurance at its locations in Great Bend, Larned, and Stafford. The organization remains committed to offering accessible, high-quality care for all.
Behavioral-health office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday until 7 p.m.. To learn more or schedule an appointment, visit www.heartofkansas.com/behavioral-health-team or call 620-792-5700.
