In March, the Hoisington school district publicly announced Superintendent Patrick Crowdis’ resignation. In April, the USD 431 Board of Education released the news of Trenton Horn becoming the next superintendent. In May, Horn stopped in Hoisington to get up to speed on the district.
Crowdis said Horn was in town last week to tour the school buildings and get updated on ongoing projects within the district.
"On June 17, there is a budget workshop in Sublette," said Crowdis. "I will be going to attend with Dodge City. I will be taking Taylor (Smith) as well. She will attend with Mr. Horn. We'll all be there kind of together."
Horn will begin his position with USD 431 on July 1. He has spent the last six years as superintendent for Stanton County Schools in Johnson City, Kansas.
Crowdis resigned after five years with USD 431 to accept a position with the Dodge City school district.
