If you are using votive candles in your home, you will want to check where you purchased them before lighting them.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on Adco’s sure scents candles carried exclusively at Dollar Tree. The retailer sold over 140,000 votive candles with the names “Moonlit Waves” and “Peaceful Stream.”
According to the CPSC recall notice, the blue candles are two-and-a-half inches tall, and the high flame may cause the glass container to shatter, sparking a fire and burn hazards. In some situations, the surface wax has caught on fire, making it a serious risk of spreading the flames.
If you have any of these candles, CPSC urges consumers not to light the candles and call Dollar Tree for a refund at 1-800-876-8697 or return the product to any Dollar Tree Stores for a refund or exchange. You will not be required to have the original packaging or receipt.
