Kevin C. Seyfert, 62, died September 2, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. He was born October 18, 1961, in Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Kenneth and Norma (Courange) Seyfert. Kevin graduated from Hoisington High School in 1979 and later furthered his education in mechanics at NCK Tech in Beloit and auto body repair at Salina Area Vo-Tech.
On June 25, 2004, he married Rita Demel in Great Bend, Kansas. She survives.
A lifetime Hoisington resident, Kevin worked in the maintenance department for Superior Essex since 1996. He also worked part time at Old Dominion Freight Line. He was a member of the Barton County Fire District #2 of Hoisington, proudly serving his community for the last 39 years. He loved fast cars, trucks, loud music, and Original Coors. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife Rita Seyfert of the home; daughters, Shawna (Dennis) O’Claray of Yukon, Oklahoma, Angela Foltz (fiancé Aaron Ball) of Great Bend, Cassandra Caruthers (fiancé William Hodur) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Crystal Caruthers of Great Bend; mother, Norma Seyfert of Hoisington; sisters, Nancy (Mark) Crawford of Hoisington, and Kimberly (William) Lange of Wichita; honorary brother, LaVern Boxberger of Hoisington; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth C. Seyfert.
Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Ron Bailey presiding. Inurnment will follow in Hoisington City Cemetery.
