Fire warnings have been issued over the past 10 days around Kansas. Thursday evening, the warnings became real as crews from several fire departments responded to a grass fire just north of Great Bend.

Just before 7 p.m., a large fire was reported approximately one mile north of JUCO Road between N. Washington Ave. and 281 Highway. The Great Bend Fire Department is receiving mutual aid from Hoisington, Albert, and Ellinwood departments.&nbsp;

N. Washington Ave. is closed at JUCO Road while crews battle the fire.
