Fuller Industries Inc., a long-standing manufacturer based in Great Bend, announced Monday its participation in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s newly launched Freedom 250 Small Business initiative.
The nationwide SBA effort invites entrepreneurs, manufacturers and Main Street shops to join a landmark celebration honoring 250 years of American independence, entrepreneurship and free enterprise. By signing the Freedom 250 pledge, participating companies receive an official Freedom 250 certificate recognizing their role in the national economy.
For Fuller Industries, taking the pledge aligns with a multi-decade legacy of domestic production.
"Signing the Freedom 250 pledge is a natural fit for us because American manufacturing is built into the very fabric of Fuller Industries," said Joe Mann, general manager of Fuller Industries. "For generations, our team in Great Bend has relied on that classic Midwestern grit to create high-quality products right here at home. This pledge reinforces our commitment to investing in American workers, strengthening our domestic supply chains and keeping our community's economic backbone strong."
The Freedom 250 pledge outlines five core commitments for participating businesses: building and growing in America, creating opportunities for U.S. workers, advancing a pro-growth economy, innovating for the future and upholding the nation's entrepreneurial spirit.
SBA Great Plains Regional Administrator Brad Zaun emphasized that the initiative aims to spotlight the everyday resilience of local business owners across the region.
“I believe the true heart of America's 250-year journey lives right here in the sheer hustle and spirit of our local business owners,” Zaun said. “This pledge isn't about an administrative process; it’s about celebrating you — the families and entrepreneurs supporting our region every single day.”
As for Fuller, “your commitment to celebrating the spirit of freedom, entrepreneurship, and community reflects the very foundation upon which our nation was built,” Zaun said. “Small businesses like yours continue to drive innovation, opportunity, and patriotic pride across America.”
Zaun encouraged all small business owners across the region's four states (Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa) to visit the SBA pledge portal to sign up and receive official recognition.
