Everett Frank Hitschmann, 95, died Sept. 19, 2022, at Country Place Senior Living, Hoisington. He was born Nov. 29, 1926, in rural Redwing, the son of Frank and Veronica (Feltes) Hitschmann. Everett was a WWII veteran, serving as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946.
On April 3, 1951, he married Margaret Mary “Marge” Schneweis, in Beaver. She preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 2014.
Everett was a farmer from birth until his death, farming was definitely his life’s passion.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He loved bowling with the Beaver Bowlers, baseball, motorcycles, and making and collecting WWII model airplanes.
He is survived by three children; Randy Hitschmann and wife Stacey of Beaver, Mick Hitschmann and wife Carla of Odin, and Carla Shaw and husband John of Bayfield, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Jason Vasquez, Jennifer Medina and husband A.J., Heather Panning and husband Mark, Brigette Komarek and husband Ryan, Jackie Vogt and husband Justin, Ashley Shaw, Lindsey Shaw, and Candace Ortiz and husband Marcus; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, Urb Hitschmann, and a sister, Sister Mary (Celestine) Urban.
Visitation will be Wednesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A Vigil service with Rosary will begin at 7 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Beaver, Kansas, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Army Honor Guard.
