The month of November starts with five weeks of high school football playoffs in Kansas. The Great Bend High School Panthers football team, undefeated at 8-0, will begin the playoffs Friday, Nov. 1 at home against Newton.

Great Bend Activities Director Matt Westerhaus said tickets and seating this Friday will be exactly the same as a regular season game. If the Panthers are able to advance, there will be a slight twist to admission.

"Our general admission is $7 for adults and students," said Westerhaus. "That's set by the Western Athletic Conference. Moving forward, it will be $8 for adults and $6 for students. If you're a reserved, season-ticket holder, you have to buy a ticket but you still have your seat. That's moving forward."

As the #1-seed on the West side of the Class 5A bracket, if Great Bend is able to advance the Panthers will host each playoff game leading up to the State Championship.

Season-ticket holders will still have their reserved seats throughout the playoffs, but following this week, season-ticket holders will need to pay admission.
