Crews from Phillips Southern Electric Company will begin phase two of signal improvements at the US-56 and McKinley intersection starting on July 16, 2025. This phase will involve the closure of several lanes to ensure the safety of motorists and workers while the upgrades take place.

The right eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 56 will be closed and secured with concrete barriers. In addition, the right northbound lane of McKinley Street, as well as a portion of the right southbound lane south of the intersection, will also be closed to traffic.

Motorists are advised to be alert for changing traffic patterns throughout the duration of the project. With work expected to last approximately two months, depending on weather and other factors, drivers should plan for possible delays and remain cautious while traveling through the area.

Crews will provide signage and an arrow board to help warn drivers in advance. The public’s patience and cooperation during this important project is appreciated.
