From United Way of Central Kansas
The United Way of Central Kansas (UWCK) announces that funding applications for 2025 are now open. Our mission is to unite individuals, businesses, and organizations to create lasting change and ensure all members of our community have an equal opportunity to succeed.
“At United Way of Central Kansas, we believe that a community cannot thrive unless everyone within it has the chance to succeed—especially those facing the greatest challenges,” said Charell Owings, executive director of UWCK.
UWCK focuses on three key areas—Health, Education, and Financial Stability—the building blocks of a strong and successful community. Organizations applying for funding must demonstrate how their programs align with these focus areas:
· Health: Enhancing community health by increasing access to healthcare services, reducing substance abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence, promoting senior health and well-being, and encouraging health education and preventative care.
· Education: Empowering individuals through affordable childcare, early learning opportunities, and partnerships with schools to improve student success.
· Financial Stability: Supporting families in achieving independence by addressing basic needs and offering financial education. Allocation documents and funding guidelines are available at www.uwck.org/allocations. Applicants must submit all required documentation by January 10, 2025.
Organizations not currently partnered with UWCK are encouraged to reach out to learn how to become a Community Partner. For more information, contact Charell Owings at 620-792-2403 or email [email protected].
United Way of Central Kansas envisions a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Through partnerships with our Community Partners and Impact Programs, we are committed to creating an equitable society for all our neighbors.
Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more vibrant Central Kansas.
