It’s Fair Time! July 8th through the 12th is time for the Barton County Fair and the fair has been adjusted to keep everyone safe while allowing 4-H youth to receive feedback on their project learning.

Youth in 4-H work on projects all year and the fair is a great showcase for that work! Kansas 4-H has over 30 project areas from Beef to Leadership to Woodworking.

Most exhibits such as photography, foods, entomology, and fashion revue will all be judged in a virtual format. The public will be able to view many of the video submissions through an application called Flip Grid. You won’t need to set up a login and will simply go to www.flipgrid.com and use the Flip Code btcofair to access the 4-H Public Showcase.

The 4-H Livestock Shows will be shared on the Cottonwood Extension District Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ksrecottonwood/. The livestock shows will also have a different format as only the species showing will be on the grounds and there can be no spectators for health reasons.

The Barton County Fair Board has a refreshed website and have lots of youth activities such as puzzles and word search in addition to sharing results and their contest information. You can find out more at bartoncountyfair.com! Be sure to check out the video welcome from your Barton 4-H Ambassadors on Tuesday, July 7 at 6 pm; it will be full of energy and fun!

Keep learning. Keep showing grace and kindness.
