Larry Edward Morgan, 80, Alexander, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at his home.
Larry was born August 9, 1943, in Alexander, Kansas, the son of Friend E. and Velma (Scheuerman) Morgan. He was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, for all but 10 years of his life. Those years were spent living in Denver, Colorado, working as a carpenter. A 1961 graduate of Alexander High School, Alexander, Kansas, he was a sheep shearer before his retirement.
Larry loved hunting, especially deer and coyotes, and fishing. He was an excellent marksman, and could do just about anything with ease.
Survivors include: two sons, Travis Morgan, Salina, Kansas, and Cory Morgan, La Crosse, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, Alexis Morgan, Amanda Beard, Adria Morgan, C. J. Morgan, Danton Morgan, Clayton Morgan, Addison Morgan, Hadyn Morgan, Jeremy Morgan, and Jerrod Morgan; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Lance “Bub” Morgan (Gloria), Alexander, Kansas, and Layne Morgan (Kerri), McCracken, Kansas; two sisters, Leanne Russell (Wade), Hudson, Kansas, and Lorrie Frank (Bill), Lincoln, Nebraska; and one sister in law, Therese Morgan, Hays, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Leslie Morgan, one great grandson, Michael Morgan; one brother Lonnie Morgan; two sisters, Linda Bott, and LaRetta Fitzwater; and two brothers in law, Robert Bott, and John Fitzwater.
Per Larry’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the Rush County EMT’s.
