Ann Haremza, 79, of Larned, passed away in Topeka at Stormont Vail Health on June 11, 2023. Ann was born in Great Bend, on Jan. 5, 1944, to Lawrence and Mildred (Simpson) Spacil. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1962. She then went on to graduate from St. Joseph Nursing School in Wichita. Through the years Ann worked for various clinics and hospitals as a Registered Nurse. She retired from the Dominican Sisters of Peace of Great Bend in 2021.
Ann is survived by Granddaughter, Alivia Cook, Topeka; daughter-in-law, Nicole Cook, Topeka; brother, Leon (Carol) Spacil, Omaha, Neb.; sister-in-law, Candi Spacil, Wichita. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by son, Shawn; sister, June; brother-in-law, Marty Harshberger; brother, Paul; baby sister, Judy and her parents and husband, Ed Haremza.
Memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood. Altar society Rosary will take place 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ellinwood), Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Larned) or Dominican Sisters of Peace (Great Bend) in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
