Marsha Elaine Dallen, 74, passed away December 15, 2023, surrounded by family at her home in Hoisington. She was born on February 23, 1949, in Salina, to Vernon and Mabel (Burt) Hays. On August 31, 1968, she married James Armond “Jim” Dallen at the Schilling Air Force Base in Salina.
Marsha started working at Dillons in 1967. She worked in many fields throughout her life and retired from Dillons in 2011.
Marsha attended church with her family at New Life Baptist Church. She was past president and member of the FOE Eagles Auxiliary and lifetime member of the VFW. Marsha enjoyed family reunions, traveling, playing cards, bingo, and was a proud supporter of the military. She was a very particular woman who had a very strict way of doing things, whether she meticulously organized her closet or her collections of different items. She crocheted many beautiful afghans and doilies for her family and friends. Above all else, Marsha loved being with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Ann Wilson-Compton and husband, Jeffrey of Hoisington; son, Richard James Dallen and wife, Violeta of Copperas Cove, Texas; sister, Arletta Googe of Salina; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany Turner and husband, Duke, Clarke Wilson, Jr., Tristin Compton, Jaala Compton, Justin Dallen, Austin Dallen, Krista Dallen, Brittny Dallen, Taylor Dallen and wife, Madison, Alysia Prater and husband, Dujuan, Samantha Anderson, Deanna Williams and husband, David, and Benjamin Anderson; and ten great-grandchildren, Vada Kaiser, Jhadyn Turner, Parker Turner, Briley Bash, Landyn Dallen, Maverick Dallen, Bennett Dallen, Jayla Prater, Hunter Williams, and Cameron Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, of 52 years; her parents; and brother-in-law, Robert Googe.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023, with the family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Denny Lewis presiding. Interment will follow at Poheta Cemetery, Saline County, Kansas.
