An era is coming to a close in Great Bend. Dr. Donald Beahm recently announced his retirement after serving the community and the surrounding area for the past 49 years as an eye doctor. He is closing the doors to his business, located at 3923 Broadway Ave. in Great Bend, for good on Nov. 24.
Beahm said he will always cherish the relationships he built with patients, and is grateful those patients allowed him to be a part of their eye-care journeys.
Beahm said for a smooth transition of services, patients need to come by his office before Nov. 24 and sign a Release of Medical Records. His office cannot release medical records to another ophthalmologist without signed authorization to do so.
In a letter to patients, Beahm also recommended several other area ophthalmologists, including Dr. Perry Schuetz in Great Bend, Weiner Eye Group in Salina, Fry Eye Associates in Garden City, or Dr. Esther Rettig in McPherson.
