Matthew Lee Montgomery, 43, passed away October 13, 2022 in Larned.
He was born May 17, 1979 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, the son of Matthew and Therese Hardin Montgomery.
Moving from Hays, he was a Larned resident. He worked as a materials handler for EnerSys, was of the Druid faith, and was a minister. He enjoyed medieval weaponry, live sword fighting, Dungeons and Dragons, and was a Dungeon Master. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially loved spending time with his children.
On September 18, 1999, he married Cristy Taylor, and they later divorced. On July 20, 2019, he married Kayla Ann Ansberry Jones at Camp Pawnee, Pawnee County, Kansas; she survives.
Other survivors include: his parents; mother and father-in-law, Gary and Rita Ansberry, Larned; two sons, Merrick Montgomery, Kentucky, Hunter Montgomery, of the home; three daughters, Lillian Montgomery, Delilah Montgomery, Genevieve Montgomery, all of the home; three sisters, Christina Sunshine Melder, Tennessee, Maria Montgomery, Georgia, and Dawn Green, Morgantown, Indiana.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life visitation will be Friday, October 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
