From the City of Great Bend...
Due to the damage of the storm, the City of Great Bend wants residents and businesses to know how to hire or obtain a licensed tree trimmer and to let businesses know about our Door To Door Licensing process.

If you want to get licensed as a tree trimmer – we are expediating the process for this emergency however we still need you to fill out the application and pay the fee PRIOR to doing any work in Great Bend. You can email Shawna Schafer at sschafer@greatbendks.net and get an electronic copy of the application OR you can come directly into City Hall at 1209 Williams and fill out the form and pay the appropriate fee. Depending on the type of license fees could be $75- $120. After your application and fee is received, the city can approve your work immediately, but you will not be officially licensed until after the August 7, 2023 City Council meeting.
If you are a business or company that wants to leave Door Hangers or fliers at City Residences to promote contract work for roofing, siding, etc. – we are expediating the process for this emergency however we still need you to fill out the application and pay the fee PRIOR to doing any Door-to-Door advertising. You can email Shawna Schafer at sschafer@greatbendks.net and get an electronic copy of the application OR you can come directly into City Hall at 1209 Williams and fill out the form and pay the fee of $50. After your application and fee is received, the city can approve your Door-to-Door advertising immediately, but you will not be officially licensed until after the August 7, 2023 City Council meeting.
