From Smoky Hills PBS
Smoky Hills PBS is proud to bring viewers a celebration of Kansas sports history with the 2026 Kansas Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, airing Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
Over the summer, the Smoky Hills PBS production team had the honor of capturing two of the three Kansas Sports Hall of Fame events. The first took place at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, followed by the official induction ceremony at Sporting Park in Kansas City.
The 2026 Kansas Sports Hall of Fame class recognizes 32 individuals, including 12 who were honored posthumously, for their accomplishments and contributions to Kansas sports. Smoky Hills PBS captured two of the three Hall of Fame ceremonies, featuring 25 inductees, including five who were honored posthumously. Viewers across Central and Western Kansas can watch these two special ceremonies and hear the stories behind the individuals who have made a lasting impact on Kansas sports.
“Smoky Hills PBS is proud to help preserve and share these important Kansas stories,” said Betsy Schwien, SHPBS General Manager. “The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame celebrates athletes, coaches, contributors and others who have made a lasting impact on sports in our state, and we are excited to bring this special event to viewers.”
