William J. Tucker, age 85, a proud veteran of the United States Navy and National Guard, passed away September 10, 2022, at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney, NE.
William, or Bill as he was affectionately known, was born January 27, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Adolph and Gladys (née Vinpany) Tucker. Bill enjoyed many self-employment jobs throughout his life, a mechanic, tree trimmer, plumber, and a "Jack of all Trades, Master of None." He was most proud of the time he spent serving his country as a sailor in the United States Navy and then later as a soldier in the National Guard.
Bill accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at Christmastime in 2018.
He is survived by his wife Jane (née Ahrens) Tucker of Arnold, step children: Jerry (Christie) Lee of Plattsmouth, NE, Connie (Darin) Norby of Farnam, NE grandchildren: Rene (Jeff) Pearson of Kansas City, MO, Courtney (Tim) Edwards of West Leechburg, PA, Benjamin Lee of Denver, CO, Jonathan (Hanna) Lee of Liberty, MO, Tony Villavicencio of Berry, NH, Kristin Lee of Kansas City, MO, Jesse (Katelyn) Lee of Liberty, MO, Micah Lee of Kansas City, MO, Megan Lee of Kansas City, MO, Chase Callahan of Ogallala, Bethany Lee of Plattsmouth, Cassy Callahan of Hays, KS, Dylan Norby of Farnam, great-grandchildren: Titus, Olivia, Ruby, Bryce, Brynlee, Marcus, Sophie, Travis, Tesslyn, & Alex, brother-in-law Jerry Ahrens, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Baptist Church in Arnold, with a Graveside Memorial service with Military Honors September 14, 2022, at 2:20 pm at the Tallin Cemetery south of Arnold with Pastor Jerry Lee officiating.
