Patricia Ann Proksch, 87, died Aug. 2, 2024, at Credo Senior Living of Hoisington. She was born April 29, 1937, the daughter of Gus and Dale (Depiesse) Schremmer. Pat graduated from Hoisington High School in 1955.
On April 24, 1957, she married Richard J. Proksch in Hoisington. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2019.
Pat and Richard moved to Denver, Colo. in 1961, where she worked as bookkeeper for Target Dept. Store for 33 years. While in Denver, they enjoyed square dancing and were part of a bowling league. In 2000, Richard and Pat moved back to Hoisington where she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the birds and squirrels. She loved her grandchildren and when they visited, she made sure to make special care packages for each of them for the trip home.
Survivors include: two sons, Brad Proksch and wife Lisa of Hudson, Colo., and Brent Proksch and wife Anne of Montgomery, Texas; brothers, Bill Schremmer, Gene Schremmer and wife Cheryl, and Ron Schremmer and wife Betty, all of Hoisington; and three grandchildren, Shannon Proksch and husband Byron Pillow, Brian Proksch and wife Katie, and Austin Proksch; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Rose Proksch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Brian R. Proksch, brothers, Earl and Jim Schremmer, and sisters, Karen Bishop and Lois Klug.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, with family to greet friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Rosary and Vigil Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. all at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington, Kansas, celebrated by Father Warren Stecklein. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington.
