The Great Bend Recreation Commission will be hosting a free Stop ‘N Learn Session titled “Stop The Bleed®” on Wednesday, March 5, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the Great Bend Rec Activity Center (2715 18th Street).  Seconds count when a bleeding emergency happens.  Bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death in any trauma injury.  The American College of Surgeons Stop The Bleed® program has prepared more than 2.6 million people worldwide to stop bleeding in a severely injured person.  The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus emergency department team will facilitate a free one-hour course, in which participants can learn how to recognize life-threating bleeding and quickly implement bleeding control techniques.

A complete list of programs and class details can be found at the GBRC website at www.greatbendrec.com.  Please contact the Recreation Commission office at 793-3755, ext 110, or stop by the office located at 1214 Stone Street for more information or with any questions you may have.
