
The Great Bend Recreation Commission will be hosting a free Stop āN Learn Session titled āStop The BleedĀ®ā on Wednesday, March 5, from 12:00 ā 1:00 pm at the Great Bend Rec Activity Center (2715 18th Street). Seconds count when a bleeding emergency happens. Bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death in any trauma injury. The American College of Surgeons Stop The BleedĀ® program has prepared more than 2.6 million people worldwide to stop bleeding in a severely injured person. The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus emergency department team will facilitate a free one-hour course, in which participants can learn how to recognize life-threating bleeding and quickly implement bleeding control techniques.
