Great Bend Post
A little more than a year has passed since LaResa and Eugene Likes announced that Great Bend Coffee in downtown Great Bend was up for sale. The plan was to continue operating the business as usual until a buyer was found. Last week, with still no buyer in sight, the Likes announced the business would be closing on Aug. 30.
"Leaving Great Bend Coffee is far from easy for me," LaResa said in a Facebook post. For over 10 and a half years, this place has been more than just a business - it's been the heart of my life's passion, a space where I have been fortunate enough to do what I love every single day. Along the way, I have been blessed to meet so many incredible individuals, forging friendships and memories that I will cherish forever."

According to the Facebook post, property within the building will be sold beginning in September. A date has not been finalized, but the Likes are planning an appreciation dinner in August.
The Likes purchased Great Bend Coffee from Paul and Barb Wagner 10 years ago. Last July, LaResa announced the sale of the business in part so she could spend more time with family. A hallmark of the business has been making everything from scratch.
"Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all my family, friends, and loyal customers for helping my dreams come true in ways I never imagined," the Likes said on Facebook. "Your kindness and encouragement have brought color and joy to my life, and for that, I will always be grateful."
