Barton County will receive $5,007,269 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The county is asking residents to participate in a brief survey to help the Barton County Commission develop an effective spending plan focused on where the funds are most needed.

The survey asks to rank the top three priorities for the need of funding. Options include 911 communications, childcare, economic development, public building improvements, law enforcement, premium pay for essential workers, payroll and covered benefits for people dedicated to COVID-19 response, technology, ventilation improvements in congregate areas and water and sewer.

The survey must be completed by Aug. 15.
