The high school volleyball postseason has arrived, at least for smaller schools around Kansas. Regional action is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 20, with teams advancing to sub-state tournaments on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Hoisington will host a Class 3A regional on Oct. 20. The Lady Cards finished the regular season with a 29-4 record but enter the overall regional field as the No. 3 seed behind Holcomb (32-4) and Lakin (32-4). Hoisington will take on Larned at 5 p.m., and Beloit will play Colby on the other court at 5 p.m. at the Activity Center. Hoisington will play Colby and Beloit will play Larned at 6 p.m. Hoisington takes on Beloit, and Colby plays Larned at 7 p.m. The top two teams from the quad advance to sub-state action on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Top-ranked Ellinwood will host a Class 2A regional on Monday, Oct. 20. Again, the top two teams from Monday’s quad will advance to sub-state action on Oct. 25. Ellinwood, which finished the regular season with a perfect record, will play No. 16 seed Hutchinson Trinity, then play No. 9 Wichita County. The Eagles will close out the night against No. 8 seed Stanton County.
