Barton County Road and Bridge will be purchasing a new Bobcat Track Loader from Bobcat of Salina.

The county currently owns two T650 T4 Bobcats that were purchased in 2014 and 2017.

County Works Director Darren Williams says the cost to maintain the equipment is $7,000 apiece, which is an increase covered under the municipal contract rollover.

ā€œIā€™m asking the Commissioners to use that rollover option to utilize both Bobcats, which the cost this year is $7,000 for each machine, which is up about $2,450 from last year.ā€

Both units will be replaced with a 2021 model T76 as the other two models are no longer manufactured.
