With the sudden closures of several restaurants in Great Bend, there's a certain trepidation when residents see changes to existing eateries. No worries, however. Subway Regional Manager Stephanie Harbaugh said the store located at 2723 10th Street in Great Bend is only temporarily closed.

"We're just remodeling the inside," she said. "All Subways have to be remodeled by the end of the year. It's going to be all bright neon green and gray colors. It really lightens up the store."

Decisions to remodel stores come from the corporate office. The Great Bend remodel began on Nov. 25 and is projected to be completed by Dec. 6.
