
The Barton Community College women's bowling team headed into the holiday break following a strong weekend, earning third and fourth place finishes along with an All-Tournament Team honor from freshman Tailynn Level at the SWIBC III and IV tournaments held at City View Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas.
SWIBC III RECAP: The Cougars opened the weekend with a third place finish among eight varsity programs, tallying 4,901 pins over four traditional games and 10 Baker rounds.
Ellie Weeks directed the Barton lineup with a seventh place finish behind a 695 series (173 average) followed by Anne Timmermeyer in 10th with a 683 (170 average) and a team best 209 single game. Level added a 14th place effort, while Alexis Wareman and Rose Timmermeyer rounded out the lineup in 20th and 28th respectfully.
Texas A&M University captured the team title with 5,220 pins, while Southern Nazarene University placed second with 4,947. Southern Nazarene's Analise Bishop earned individual medalist honors, leading the 45-bowler field with a 790 series (197 average).
SWIBC IV RECAP: Barton followed Saturday's efforts with a fourth place finish in the SWIBC IV, knocking down 4,984 pins across six traditional games.
Level led the Cougars with a fourth-place individual finish, earning All-Tournament Team honors behind a 1,121 series (186 average) and a team-high 218 single game. Wareman joined her inside the top ten, finishing 10th overall with 1,061 pins, while Weeks and Timmermeyer followed in 23rd (913) and 26th (832), respectively.
Southern Nazarene University claimed the team title with 5,244 pins, followed by the University of Texas–San Antonio (5,093) and Texas A&M University (5,014). Allison Olivia of Texas A&M–Texarkana captured individual medalist honors, leading the 44-bowler field with a 1,159 series (193 average).
Following the holiday break, Barton returns to action January 17–18 at the SWIBC V and VI tournaments hosted at Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas.
