On Tuesday, May 17 at approximately 9:05 p.m. an officer with the Great Bend Police Department initiated a traffic stop with a female on a bicycle at the intersection of 12th Street and Jefferson Street for a traffic infraction.
The female was identified as Joyce Garcia, age 50. The officer was advised by Barton County Dispatch that Garcia had an outstanding warrant out of Rooks County. Garcia was placed under arrest.
Officers located drug paraphernalia containing a white powdery substance in Garcia's possession that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Garcia was transported to the Barton County Detention Center and booked and held for the outstanding warrant and for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
