November has been a lucky month for Riley Elementary fifth-grade teacher Mandy Stansfield. Earlier this month, USD 428 recognized her as one of two Teachers of the Year. Last week, one of her students, Hailey Guzman, was selected as Eagle Media's Make a Difference winner. OPI & Golden Belt Printing presented Hailey with a giant $100 check.

"I can make a difference by being kind to others and opening the door," Hailey said, "and sharing stuff if someone needs it. I can also be respectful and polite."

All Barton County elementary students, grades K-6, are eligible for the contest, with a catch: they have to complete the Make a Difference entry form by themselves. As a weekly winner, Hailey is now eligible for another $100 prize in the November monthly contest. If she is selected, she will receive another $100 and a backpack filled with goodies from other Make A Difference sponsors, and Ms. Stansfield will also receive $100.

The Make a Difference contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing, is sponsored in part by Big Ben Custom Engraving, Freedom Claims Management, Great Bend Redi Mix, Francis Financial, Medical Park Pharmacy, R&R Roofing, Allstaff Chartered, Miller Plastics, Rosencrantz Bemis Water Well Service, Great Bend Rec, Jimlo Glass Center, Haz Mat Response, & Scooter's Coffee.
