It was a debut to remember for tailback Ken Walker on Monday night, and following a career-best performance, the league sent some recognition his way on Wednesday.

Walker earned AFC "Offensive Player of the Week" honors for Week 1 after the veteran tailback amassed a career-high 191 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in Monday night's victory over Denver. The reigning Super Bowl MVP recorded 179 yards after contact in the game, breaking a league-most 14 tackles along the way. He also ripped off two runs of 20+ yards in the game, nearly matching the Chiefs' combined total number of runs as a team all of last year (3).

Walker is the first member of the Chiefs to earn the award since quarterback Patrick Mahomes did so following Week 6 of last season.

Mahomes, Walker and the rest of the Chiefs will now look to stick in the win column this weekend as Kansas City hosts the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football.
