The Kansas Wetlands Education Center invites you to its 13th Annual Butterfly Festival from 9 a.m. until Noon, Saturday, September 26th at the Center on Highway 156 between Great Bend and Claflin. Each year, millions of Monarch butterflies make their annual fall flight to Mexico. The event will feature butterfly tagging along with crafts, an insect zoo, games and performances by the Stone Lion Puppet Theatre at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:15 a.m. Nets and tags will be available for those who want to capture and tag monarch butterflies.
