Barton County honored their latest Employee Recognition Award recipient Wednesday morning at the Barton County Commission meeting.

Natasha Beneke, Records Clerk at the Sheriff’s Office, was given the award for her effectiveness, commitment and attitude towards her duties.

"I just want to say thank you to everybody," said Beneke. "I love working at the Sheriff's Office. It is hard somedays, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Thank you."

The award is given out quarterly, and Employee Relations Committee President Bailey Rankin mentioned Beneke is versatile, trustworthy, optimistic and thorough with her job.

Commissioner Barb Esfeld had high remarks for Beneke too.

"Natasha, that is a hard job," said Esfeld. "I'm glad to see someone over at the Sheriff's Office recognized. I've been over there and she doesn't always deal with the most pleasant people. We know it's not easy."

Along with a certificate of recognition, Beneke received an extra day of PTO (paid time off).
