Great Bend’s 2024 Connection City Link Improvement Program (CCLIP) project was approved by the Kansas Department of Transportation. The project will make improvements to Main Street, from the bridge to 2nd Street. The plan will also make repairs to Patton Road, from 10th Street to 9th Street.

Kadiyala said the next step is to sign the agreement with KDOT.
"We received approval in October 2022," said Kadiyala. "As a second step, KDOT sent us an agreement. It states that 90% of the participation will by state funding. Then 10% will be the city's portion."
The Great Bend City Council approved the motion to authorize the mayor to sign
the 2024 CCLIP agreement. Kadiyala said the project still needs to go out for
bids, and from there the city will know what their 10% portion of the project
will be.
