The City of Great Bend will seek approval from the Great Bend City Council Monday for the repair and rehabilitation of 14 manholes and boxes in the city’s sanitary storm sewer system.
Mayer Specialty Services is the only offer the city received for the service. The city stated they have a long-standing relationship with Mayer as the company is the only business in the region that performs this work. The bid includes cleaning, hydro blasting, repairing and filling all holes or missing brick, creating a smooth flow and sealing.
Some of the manholes and boxes to be repaired are on Lakin Avenue, the alley west of the High Rise, the alley between 11th and 12th, and at 20th and Kansas. The $49,120 bid would be paid for from the Equipment Maintenance line item.
The council will be presented the motion to approve the bid at Monday’s meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
