Stephen Craig “Steve” Ball, 70, passed away July 16, 2023, at his home in Bison, Kansas. He was born on October 6, 1952, in Great Bend, Kansas, to John and Coralee Ann (Lewis) Ball. On October 10, 1987, he married Linda Koci in Bison, Kansas. She survives.
Steve served his country in the United States Marine Corp and after being discharged, spent his working years as an onsite geologist in the oil field. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Walnut City Lodge of Rush Center. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, dog training and farming.
Survivors include his wife of the home; three brothers, Richard Ball of Junction City, Kansas, Michael (Coleen) Ball of Hillsboro, Kansas, and David Ball of Manhattan, Kansas; two sisters, Candace (John) Cobb of Lawrence, Kansas and Crystal (David) Miller of Winfield, Kansas; stepbrother, Iver Tokoi of Abilene, Kansas; and stepsister, Amanda (Tim) Hilfiger of Spring Grove Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick Ball; and sister-in-law, Patricia Ball.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 20203, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corp, as well as Masonic Funeral Rites presented.
