The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting and Chamber After Hours Event on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, honoring Hammeke Electric Inc as they marked an incredible milestone of 25 years in business. The celebration not only celebrated a quarter-century of dedication to electrical and security services but also reflected the company’s creativity in giving back to the community.
Hammeke Electric Inc kicked off their anniversary festivities earlier this summer with a Chamber Coffee on Aug. 7, where guests learned about the company’s growth and expansion of services over the years. The celebration culminated in a Chamber After Hours event, where attendees gathered for a special giveaway and recognition of the company’s achievements.
As part of their 25th Anniversary, Hammeke Electric organized a unique raffle drawing for an 18W Generac Generator with full installation valued at more than $9,500. Entries were earned through acts of generosity and community support. Participants could bring non-perishable food and hygiene items, purchase any security product or service within the qualifying timeframe, or engage through Facebook opportunities. This inventive approach tied the celebration directly to community generosity, turning a major prize drawing into an effort that supported local needs.
Founded in 2001 by Tim and Kim Hammeke, the company’s roots run deep. Tim earned his Master Electrician license at just 21, the youngest age possible, while Kim brought her business expertise with a degree from Barclay College. Together, they established a business with a mission to honor God through excellence, honesty, and integrity, a guiding principle that still defines their work today.
With locations in both Great Bend and Emporia, Hammeke Electric meets the power needs of communities across Kansas. The company is also a Generac Generator Power Pro Elite Plus Certified Dealer and in 2022 became one of the few Woodmaster Clean Fire Furnace dealers in the state. In 2020, they expanded further by acquiring Petroleum Electric Services, adding one of the largest inventories in central Kansas for motors, VFDs, pumps, and panels.
Another recent notable achievement is when they were named the award winner of the South Central Award of Merit in the category of Business Innovation during the 2024 To the Stars: Kansas Business Awards, presented by the Kansas Department of Commerce. This honor demonstrated their continued commitment to forward-thinking solutions.
