Man with previous conviction in Stafford Co. caught transporting meth

OSAGE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new drug allegations.

Just after 4:30 p.m. Feb. 15, an Osage County Sheriff’s Department investigator conducted a traffic stop at 4th and Lincoln Street in Osage City for a traffic violation, according to Sheriff Chris Wells.

During the stop, illegal narcotics were located. The driver of the vehicle, David A. Cannon, 39, of Osage City was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail Facility on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cannon has previous convictions for drug possession in Pratt County in 2019  and interference with law enforcement in Stafford County in 2020, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
