The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a stream advisory for Rattlesnake Creek in Stafford County from 80th Ave to the Little Salt Marsh. The advisory was issued on Sept. 13, 2023.
The stream advisory was the result of release of produced water and crude oil from oil and gas production. Water sampling indicates that tested bacteria and contaminant levels are within normal range. KDHE has deemed the stream safe for secondary (wading) contact and livestock use.
