Family Crisis Center has been selected as a Kansas Cox Charities grant recipient and has been awarded $50,000 to support critical services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.

This funding comes at a pivotal time for many nonprofit organizations facing increasing demand and uncertainty in federal and state funding streams. The $50,000 grant will help Family Crisis Center offset essential costs not covered by traditional funding sources while allowing the organization to sustain and expand critical programming for individuals and families in crisis.

“In a time when so many nonprofits are navigating financial uncertainty, this investment is both meaningful and timely for our community,” said Kylee Graves, Executive Director of Family Crisis Center, Inc. “These funds give us the ability to continue meeting immediate needs while also strengthening services for the future.”

Last year alone, Family Crisis Center served 975 individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse across Great Bend and surrounding rural communities. The grant will help ensure these services remain accessible and responsive as demand continues to grow, particularly in underserved areas where resources are limited.

“As more survivors reach out for help, this contribution plays a vital role in allowing us to be there for them—offering safety, advocacy, and support during some of the most difficult moments of their lives,” Graves said. “This funding helps us remain a reliable resource for those who need it most.”

The grant awarded to Family Crisis Center, Inc. was part of more than $200,000 given directly from Cox employees’ paychecks and distributed through  Cox Charities across Kansas in recognition of its 10th year of supporting Kansas residents and communities. This milestone investment reflects Cox Charities’ long‑standing commitment to strengthening nonprofits that provide critical services and create lasting, positive impact for individuals and families throughout the state.

“As we celebrate ten years of Cox Charities in Kansas, it’s important to recognize the nonprofits that are making an extraordinary difference in their communities,” said Rachel Aja, market vice president for Cox Kansas. “By distributing more than $200,000 across the state this year, we’re honoring that commitment and reinvesting in organizations like Family Crisis Center that provide critical, life‑changing support to Kansas residents when they need it most.”
