October marked the last Fridays on Forest event of 2024 through Great Bend Economic Development. The outdoor festival downtown, centered on Forest Avenue between Main and Williams, includes live music, food and drink vendors and entertainment. Landing on the last Friday each month during warmer months, the event saw 714 people attend in October.
Economic Development Director Sara Arnberger said her department is always looking for feedback on how to improve the event that wrapped up its fourth year.
"I just want to give a thank you to the citizens for supporting this," said Arnberger. "It's been really fun. There is a feedback form we have out right now. You can find it on our social media platforms and website."
A Common Consumption Area (CCA) has expanded over the years for the event. In August, the Great Bend City Council approved an expansion to the CCA to allow alcohol on portions of Lakin Avenue, 12th Street, the parking lot north of Charlie’s Place and the new outdoor gathering place on the southwest corner of Forest and Williams.
"If you have great ideas or any feedback for us, we would love to hear that as we jump into season five next year," added Arnberger.
